Become a ChipTimer timing agent
Bring electronic timing to the events in your own town. We do the admin. You time the race.
A timing agent in every town
It saves on travel costs
Every kilometre the equipment has to travel is a cost to the organiser. An agent in the same town as the event means a lower travel bill, and an organiser who finds electronic timing easier to say yes to.
Smaller events get electronic timing too
The more agents there are, the closer the equipment is to every event. Club races, school events and small town runs that could never afford a long trip can have accurate chip timing and instant online results.
Hardware only. The software is free.
The only cost of becoming a timing agent is the timing hardware. You buy it once and you own it. The platform you use to take entries, run the race desk, publish results and print certificates costs you nothing.
Get in touch and we will tell you what hardware you need.
In short
- You buy the timing hardware once and own it
- The ChipTimer software is free
- You work in your own town, close to home
You do not need to be a runner. You need to be careful.
Someone who understands data
Timing is mostly about getting the right numbers to the right people. If you are comfortable with spreadsheets, enjoy tidy data and follow a process step by step, you will do well.
It can be a weekend job
Most events take place on weekends, so this can easily fit around a full-time job. You are needed on race day, not every day.
We handle the admin. The agent rocks up at the race.
All the work around the race is done through our platforms, so you can focus on the timing itself.
ChipTimer takes care of
- The admin and the organiser's online entries
- Race pack collection
- Results, published online as the runners finish
- Social cards for the runners to share
- Certificates for every finisher
The timing agent
- Arrives at the race with the timing equipment
- Times the race
- Leaves the rest to the platform
